- June 2022Resonances IV Summer School
From 20th to 24th June, the JRC was home to a 5-day Summer School where researchers, artists and policy-makers met and discussed on the theme of NaturArchy.
- June-Aug 2022Development of proposals, dealine 31 August 2022
Summer School participants had until end of August 2022 to submit proposals for the production of art-works, resulting from the collaboration of an artist with scientists and/or policymakers.
- Sept-Nov 2022Selection | Validation of proposals
Proposals will be evaluated first by the core SciArt Curatorial Committee, then validated by the SciArt Expert Board. The process guarantees the quality of the selection and the scientific soundness of the selected proposals.
Selection criteria were communicated in the December 2021 Open Call. Winning proposals will be communicated at the latest by 18 November 2022.
- Nov-Dec 2022Contract Phase
If a proposal is selected, its author will receive a new expert contract. This contract will establish the residencies phase, currently scheduled for January to April 2023. During this time period, successful artists will be able to have ten days in residency at the JRC with reimbursement of travel and stay for two trips.
NB: the group of experts that the authors will be part of will be operational only once all contracts are signed, therefore participants are invited to sign these contracts as soon as possible.
- April-May 2023Go/No Go into production decision
The SciArt Curatorial Committee will make a formal decision whether to go into production for each proposal. This will be followed by a new expert contract for the authors for the production and showing in Ispra, the latter foreseen to start in September 2023 - according to a schedule agreed on with each author and project.
- Jan-Oct 2023Catalogue: final redaction
A catalogue will be generated from the texts deposited within the dedicated space in this workspace. Final redaction will be closed early in November 2023, so that the catalogue will be available before Christmas. During the showing in Ispra the same texts will be available in a format of loose sheets. Each artist-scientist-policymaker leading the projects will be responsible for the quality of their texts.
